Lucida-DS Glutathione Supplement
now as Acetyl Glutathione
Lucida-DS is our Double-Strength (DS) 500 mg Premium Reduced Glutathione plus Vitamin C 100 mg, Rosehips 100 mg and Alpha Lipoic Acid 100 mg (a total of 800 mg Glutathione complex).
Lucida-DS Glutathione supplement is now as Acetyl Glutathione.
It is important to understand the distinction between Acetyl Glutathione and the typical Glutathione supplements out there.
Supplementing Glutathione orally is not an effective way to enhance GSH levels. This is because it is broken down in the gut before it can be properly absorbed.
The molecule is destroyed long before our body can harness the benefits of this remarkable antioxidant. So most Glutathione supplements or L-Glutathione supplements are relatively ineffective unless they also contain the precursors such as N-Acetyl Cysteine.
or Alpha Lipoic Acid.
Orally stable forms of Glutathione include both Acetyl Glutathione and Liposomal Glutathione.
Liposomal Glutathione overcomes the problem with digestion by encapsulating the GSH molecule with lipids (fat).
Allowing the Glutathione molecule safe passage through the digestive tract. The one problem with Liposomal Glutathione is it begins to break down the molecule itself if left for long enough. So shelf life is a problem, but if it is fresh, this is a great way to supplement Glutathione.
Acetyl Glutathione is easily the most effective and fool-proof way to enhance Glutathione directly. By attaching a sulfur molecule to the GSH molecule it allows the Glutathione safe passage through the GI tract.
This sulfur molecule drops off once the Glutathione enters the bloodstream, ensuring you receive the maximum benefit and total absorption. Shelf life is not an issue with Acetyl Glutathione, however like Liposomal, these options are far more expensive than typical Glutathione supplements.
But they are an unbeatable value considering the remarkable health benefits and the fact that those “typical” Glutathione supplements are almost entirely going to waste.
Glutathione as in our Lucida-DS plays a major role in detoxification process that binds to toxins such as heavy metals, solvents & pesticides & transforms them into a form that can be excreted in urine/bile.
It has an anti-inflammatory effect and is essential for the functioning of the immune system.
Glutathione is the major free radical scavenger enzyme and protects individual cells & tissues of arteries, brain, heart, immune cells, kidneys, lens of eyes, liver, lungs and skin against oxidant damage.
Glutathione as Lucida-DS also helps in the prevention of cancer especially liver cancer and helps maintain the strength of RBC & protects WBC.
Glutathione as “ ANTI-AGING CAPSULE ” helps by aiding in the breakdown of oxidized fats.
Glutathione is required for carbohydrate metabolism that prevents fat deposits.
And ultimately Lucida-DS Glutathione in Double Dose (see standard dosage computation below) will whiten skin by blocking / modifying conversion of black / brown / yellow melanin pigmentation (Eumelanin) to reddish white pigmentation (Phaeomelanin).
Standard dosage computation for Glutathione as anti-aging / anti-oxidant is 10mg/Kg BW (body weight) per day.
But as a SKIN WHITENER computation should be 20-40mg/Kg BW per day in 2-3 divided dose.
You can take Glutathione anytime of the day, 30 minutes BEFORE meal or 1 hour after meals preferably with other antioxidants such as Lipoic Acid, Vitamin C, Selenium, Grapeseed Extracts or Tocopherols (Vitamin E).
When you take Glutathione supplements, it is very likely that our body will OXIDIZE the Glutathione when they pass thru the stomach to "Glutathione Disulfide - GSSG". This is not "Reduced Glutathione" anymore but "Oxidized Glutathione" and is not effective for both antioxidant, anti-aging or skin whitening.
You can regenerate this "oxidation process" by taking other anitoxidants such as Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vit C, Vit E, Vit A and Selenium everytime you take Glutathione.
Are there side-effects?
SKIN WHITENING is the "SIDE-EFFECT" of Glutathione. As per studies, there have been no noted untoward side effects of Glutathione even in prolonged use. However, taking other medications such as anti-psychotic (haloperidol) and chemotherapeutic drugs (cisplatin), consult a health professional before taking Glutathione because glutathione may reduce the drug's efficacy..
Glutathione in increased dose whitens your internal skin and to reveal that white skin beneath you also have to do other things such as using sunblock everyday with an SPF of at least 50, using whitening soaps, creams and lotions. It helps visiting a skin clinic for bleaching the dark spots on your skin such as elbows, knees, butts, etc.
